Samantha came to UNO as a transfer from Iowa Western Community College, where she originally studied physical therapy. While here, she found a new spark of creativity and inspiration, and pursued a degree in Studio Arts. In her journey, she found tremendous support from her advisors at each new step. “I talked to my academic advisors about everything. They were always so supportive and amazing resources.” Thanks to the support and guidance, Samantha grew in her talents, “I never thought I would be welding or making furniture, and it ended up being my favorite thing ever!” Now certified to teach art in K-12, she is looking forward to creating art and sharing her passion with her own students.
